Project Design Review - Software Methodology

Now that you have developed a detailed design for your project, it is wise to get useful feedback regarding possible weaknesses or ways to improve your design. This presentation gives you an opportunity to get that feedback from the class. You should make a clear and detailed presentation of your design. Be prepared to make clear arguments about why you committed to particular design decisions. (“It seemed like a good idea at the time” doesn’t count.) These presentations should be quite interactive, with class members questioning design decisions or suggesting alternatives. The design presentation should take roughly 30 minutes. It should include

• A brief summary of your project
• The high-level architecture of your project
• More detailed design for particular parts of your project
• Particularly tricky or interesting design problems you encountered
• How you will implement the network communication protocol
• Threading
• Possible project risks
• Estimated project complexity

I'd suggest using PowerPoint. If necessary, you can email me PowerPoint slides the night before (or at the latest by 9am), and I'll have them on my laptop.

This deliverable is worth 50 points, out of 500 points total for the project.
