  Time: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00pm to 7:45pm

• Textbook
  Computer Organization and Design: The Hardware/Software Interface,
  David A. Patterson and John L. Hennessy, Morgan Kaufmann Ed., Second Edition, 1998.

• Syllabus
  We will follow the textbook, adjusting the schedule according to class feedback.
  Provisional schedule.

  There is a newsgroup (ucsc.class.cmpe110) for the class.

• Class notes (as soon as available) are provided, in two (.2p) and four (.4p) slides per page,
  both in PostScript (.ps) and in Acrobat Reader (.pdf) format.
  They are not intended to replace the textbook or class attendance.

• Homework: Homework will contribute 10% to the final grade.
• Quizzes: we will have a short quiz (20 min.) about every week.
  Quizzes will contribute 25% to the final grade.
  
• Midterm: Midterm will contribute 30% to the final grade.
• Final: Final exam will contribute 35% to the final grade.
